What a week for NEWS

Monday I went back to B'ham to doctor and all is going well, but I have 5 more weeks before I can put even my toes on the floor. I was somewhat disappointed but I do want this ankle to heal. Then Benny and I went on to Auburn( you know that is a shortcut to and from B'ham). William gave us a school pic from Mothers Morning Out and a note. The note said "Kat and Daddy Ben, I am going to be a big brother, love William." We were sooooo surprised but are elated!!!! I am glad that they will be close together in age. We will probably have a chocolate haired, brown eyed babe that will look nothing like William. Isn't that grand!!!!!!!!!!

Six and Counting

Well surgery is over and thank you for your prayers. All seems to be just as the Doctor wants. I now have a plate going down the front of my ankle and some screws holding that in place while the bone fusion takes and harden. I am in less pain than I have been in a year!!!. I must not put my foot on the floor for 6 weeks. That is the hardest of all. Try just going to the bathroom on one foot or any common chore. Balance is a MUST!!. Benny and my mom have been great waiting on me. Again, thank you so much for your prayers. I know who the "Great Physician " is.

Maine Vacation

For my parent's sixty wedding anniversary, they took their children to Maine for a week's vacation. What a trip!!! The Maine beaches are rocks and no Gulf of Mexico white sand. But the water comes up and bounces off the rocks. We went to the most Northeastern point of The United States and took Mother and Dad's pic with the sign and lighthouse. We went out on a 49 foot ketch into the harbor and saw lighthouses, a harbor seal, dolphin, lobster boats, tug boats, and ferries. Benny and I had our pic taken on a working (Hobson,s) pier with lobster traps. We went into Canada to Franklin D Roosevelt's family cottage where he was born and loved to go. A cottage in Maine isn't what I call a cottage. It is located on an international island. Lark and Bill climbed down the rocks and felt of the 50 degree water. BRR!! My favorite place was Bar Harbor ( Baa Haba). The fog over the harbor and Acadia National Park are beautiful. A great place to shop too. We ate lots of lobster any way we could get them. Like Forest Gump, lobster chowder, bisque, stew, boiled, in salads, etc.... It was a vacation of a lifetime and so glad to make memories with my family.

William's Season Opener with Kat

As all football fans know, Saturday was the big day for the state of Alabama. I went to Auburn Friday to spend time with William so his mom and dad could go to the game. William has several cabinets that he is allowed to play in and he loves that. However, I have never seen him open the cabinet with the Auburn decorations. However, on Saturday morning, he crawled right to this one and opened it and started to drag out the party things. He had fun with the necklaces and poms. We played and had a great time. I think he is remembering me now. Of course that makes my heart sing!!! I also included a pic of a waterfall that is near the Barron's.

Weekend Happenings

Benny's 63rd birthday was celebrated and all four girls were here. That is getting to become harder to do. William's swing finally was put up. He wasn't sure about it at first but did enjoyed it. Of course Spudz had to lick him and William didn't mind. That's a must in our family since we have six dogs all told. He also got some non-skid monkey slippers. Kristin and I were more excited about those than he. Kristin found him a healthy snack -raisins- he loved them. We finally discovered he was hoarding them in his cheek like a chipmunk!! Oh, I did say this was Benny's birthday. We went out to eat and had a great time. William loved his food (he is in the right family). He played peekaboo with Wesley, talked with his Papa(who is 83 but looks and acts like like 63). Oh, I did say this was Benny's birthday. His family gave him lots of gifts and we had a wonderful celebration.

Updates

Just a quick note to up date you on happenings. The puppy I received as an anonymous gift is growing. He loves to dig holes and drag items out of the garage. Every morning I am greeted with new holes and stuff right at the door. I will have surgery in September to fuse my ankle. After visiting my doctor last week, he informed me that things are looking worse. I thought this because the pain was not improving. I appreciate all your prayers and ask that you continue. I will be non-weight bearing and in a cast for six to eight weeks. Now for good news, William turned one July 23rd. My how this year has flown. He is such a joy. I can't see him enough. Every one told me that Grands were GRAND and I know now just how right they are. Will try to do some pics next blog.
